Can a beginner get a CISSP certification?
A beginner can pursue CISSP certification, but it's essential to understand the prerequisites. The CISSP certification requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in two or more of the eight domains of the CISSP.
For those without the required experience, you will be awarded the Associate of ISC2 status instead of a CISSP. You will then be given six years to complete the five-year work experience requirement. Once the work experience requirement is fulfilled, you will then receive a CISSP certification.

Yes, the CISSP certification does expire after three years. To maintain the certification, holders are required to earn and submit a total of 120 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits within the three-year cycle and pay the Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF).
