4-Day CISM® Bootcamp: Pass the New Exam and Step Into Security Leadership

Fully rebuilt for the November 2026 CISM exam: new workbook, slides, practice questions, and real-world case studies.

The certification that opens up security leadership roles

CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) is what shows up as a requirement, not a preference, on the security management jobs you actually want. In four days, you won’t only get ready for the exam, but also leave with the management-level thinking those roles test for in interviews, and a real shot at the promotion, the title change, or the job posting that's currently out of reach without it.

Built for the Updated CISM Exam

NEW EXAM OUTLINE · NOVEMBER 2026

Studying from materials built around the old outline means studying the wrong things with complete confidence. You'll feel ready right up until the exam disagrees with you.

So we rebuilt the course against the current CISM exam outline. Not a pass over the slide deck: the course structure, the workbook, the slides, the flashcards, the knowledge assessments, the practice test, the app questions, and more.

We also added something the previous course didn't have.

Theory in Practice lessons that walk through case studies and real situations you may very well need to deal with in your work.

How This CISM BootCamp Gets You Into Leadership

  • Icon for management focused training - Destination Certification

    Management-Focused Training

We built this Bootcamp for one specific problem: security professionals who are technically excellent and keep getting passed over for management.

  • Icon for strategic decision framework - Destination Certification

    Strategic Decision Framework

You can explain a firewall rule to another engineer without blinking. Explaining why it matters to a CFO is a different skill, and it's the one CISM tests. You'll build it here.

  • Icon for fast track leadership - Destination Certification

    Your Fast Track to Leadership

More senior security roles list CISM as a requirement now, not a nice-to-have. Without it, you can get filtered out before anyone reads the rest of your resume. The person choosing to promote/hire you is taking a personal risk; if you have CISM, they can defend their decision much more easily than if you don’t, so their risk is far lower.

Destination Certification CISM Bootcamp Class Syllabus

Domain 1

Information Security Governance

If you can't explain your security strategy in terms your executives already care about, that strategy dies in committee. This domain covers building governance frameworks and communicating security needs the way leadership actually hears them.

Domain 2

Information Risk Management

Technical severity and business risk aren't the same thing, even when your current risk register treats them that way. You'll learn to assess and prioritize risk the way your leadership needs it framed, so your program gets funded instead of ignored.

Domain 3

Information Security Program Development and Management

A pile of tools isn't a program. This domain covers what turns disconnected controls into something leadership can see is working, and that actually protects what matters to the business.

Domain 4

Information Security Incident Management

When an incident hits, the room looks for whoever can lead it, not whoever can patch the fastest. This domain builds the incident response and business continuity skills you need to run that room and keep the business standing afterward.

The People Behind Your CISM Training

Learn CISM From Someone Who Helped ISACA Build It

Most CISM training is written by people who read the exam outline. John Berti helped create CISM materials for ISACA, contributed to their training programs, and taught CISM courses for them.

That's where our exam strategy comes from.

When two answers to a CISM question both look correct, and on this exam they often do, knowing how the question was built tells you which one it's rewarding. Students rarely value the strategy when they start studying. They point to it afterwards as the reason they passed the first time.

Our pass exam guarantee badge - Destination Certification

The Destination Certification CISM Exam Guarantee

We can't guarantee you'll pass. Nobody honestly can promise that, and you shouldn't trust anyone who does. What we can guarantee is that you won't be left to figure out management-level security alone.

Where CISM Actually Gets Hard

Most security professionals hit the same wall with CISM: it's testing how you think, not what you know. We address that directly, with:

  • Management mindset frameworks
  • Strategic decision-making scenarios
  • Executive communication practice
  • Business alignment training

What We Guarantee

  • A full year of MasterClass video access, so you can review as many times as you need
  • A free seat in any of our public CISM Bootcamps
  • Complete study materials
  • A structured, personal learning path built with your mentor to give you the best chance of passing on your second attempt (and nearly 100% of our students who need a second attempt pass on that attempt)
  • Continued access to weekly Q&A sessions

If you need more time or support, you have it. Access doesn't expire the moment the Bootcamp does.

CISM Bootcamp Course FAQ

Why is Destination Certification's CISM Bootcamp different?

It's built for the transition into leadership, not just the exam. You get a leadership-focused workbook, instruction from a CISM-certified trainer, knowledge assessments that show you exactly where your gaps are, access to our Discord community, recorded MasterClass video access, realistic sample questions, and proven exam strategy. We even built case study lessons that help with applying the concepts to your work because we want you to succeed in your career, not just the exam.

Is this Bootcamp updated for the new CISM exam outline?

Yes. The course structure, flashcards, knowledge assessments, practice tests, app questions, slides, workbook, and reference materials are all rebuilt against the November 2026 outline.

How is the Bootcamp delivered?

Tuesday through Friday over Zoom, with live interactive sessions and real-time Q&A. You also get access to the professionally recorded MasterClass lessons afterward, so if you miss something live, you can easily review it later.

Who's teaching this Bootcamp?

Kelly Handerhan, one of the Top 100 Trainers worldwide, with more than 20 years in IT and cybersecurity and certifications that include CISM, CISSP, CCSP, CISA, and CRISC. The curriculum comes from our founders Rob Witcher and John Berti, who bring decades of experience in information security training.

What does the CISM Bootcamp cost?

$1,697 as a one-time payment (you save $300 off the regular $1,997), or $327 a month for 6 months. Either way, you get full access to everything.

Who should attend?

If you're a technical security specialist eyeing a management role, an IT professional moving into security leadership, a consultant who advises on program development, or a newly promoted security manager who wants the certification to match the title, this is built for you. Most students who get the most out of it have 3-5 years of security experience already.

What is DestCert?

Destination Certification trains security professionals for CISSP, CCSP, and CISM, with MasterClasses and Bootcamps built to make a genuinely hard exam manageable. The goal isn't just the pass. It's making you better at the job the certification represents.

How do you track first-time pass rates?

It depends on how closely we work with the student. For CISSP Preferred and Premier MasterClass students (which we have so much of that the measurement is very accurate), we track this directly because our instructors work with them through the entire process: 93.6% pass on their first attempt. For Essential MasterClass students and Bootcamp students, pass rates come from self-reporting, so we can't claim the same precision, but the numbers we do get back point in the same direction. Across every program, the pattern holds: most students who follow the full system pass the first time, and almost everyone who doesn't passes on the second attempt.
