“Hi folks, first off just in case I don't have the opprtunity later to say thank you, "thank you" for the support and encouragement throughout the course. It is hard to keep someone motivated and engaged in a course like this and to be fair to you both, you really did and in a truly & very "authentic" way (word dejour :-)) In terms of how the content is delivered. So to the course, I watched all the classes and watched the mindmaps as a revision at the end, I used the workbook for notes, then added in the mindmaps as a summary of each area as the work book progressed. The work book was brilliant as it was flexible to add notes, comments exam hints (you don't have to remember all the stages etc.), and also extra info I acquired from the app or looking stuff up online. I really liked the mindmaps as an aid to the revision. I used your app a lot, to be fair mainly for the questions and then with the ones that I got wrong I'd add the content and context back intot he work book on additional blank pages. I always found a number of questions that were really low level which scared the bejasus out of me and would add it to my body of knowledge so to speak :-). I wasn't great with the flash cards, but I did try to get through as many as possible. I didn't complete any knowledge assessments in the browser as they didn't work, however they did on the phone after the update on the 23rd June so I started to do them then. I joined one call with the team and sat quietly listening which was informative, but the main benefit tbh was that there were other real people out there doing the same and that was nice, so that fleeting sense of being part of a community was nice. I didn't use the discord channel. Just to say I ticked "strongly disagree" in the survey for the areas that I didn't use, it wasn't that they weren't of use to people but I didn't use them or couldn't access them for some reason, hence the choice. Just to let you know, this was my first time taking the exam, I have not worked in the Security area for over 15 years, I had been toying with doing the CISSP certification at that time but moved to roles that had zero security since, the reason to say this is that it was your collective content and knowledge transfer that enabled me to pass (which says a lot :-)) so fair dues, the content the support and guidance on exam strategy and questions is really obviously superb. One last thing, just to say a direct thanks to Naina, who when the platform upgrade took place she was incredibly responsive and supportive (given my exam was just a couple of days away) and everything was back up and running which helped ease the stress. So thanks again for the content and the support. Just to say, thanks again for the content, the delivery and the support. I enjoyed the course despite all the other stresses and strains going on and that was really down to you both and how you delivered the course, as trite as this might sound you both managed to deliver it where your personalities and genuineness (if that is a word) managed to come across and that made it enjoyable as well as educational, so thanks again.”

“Using laymen terms to explain complicated concepts without relying on rote memorization. I realized after failing the exam the first attempt that this exam is definitely not something you can pass based on rote memorization. Even as an experienced professional in IT Audit, learning things like network and memorization what the layers were did not do any good without actually learning the simplified versions of the complicated concepts and then being able to conceptualize those complications into practical applications and real-world understandings to come to an understanding how those impact every-day things we do at work and personal life (i.e. using a smartphone and simply sending a text message over radio frequencies). Also, helping understand and grasp the entire world of cyber and networking, that many experienced professionals in their niche realms don't grasp because they are SMEs but don't know the entire broader picture from the beginning of the bits, to security, to CI/CD, frameworks and models involved, management of risk frameworks, disposal methods, all the way to physical security of data centers, and a lot more.”

As someone who has been a practitioner for quite some time, I found that perspective extremely important. I also liked how the course was organized to mirror the exam outline, which made it easier to follow and prepare effectively. John's exam preparation video was definitely LOOOOONNNNNGGG ( ahah, thank you John), but it was packed with valuable insights and practical guidance that helped put everything into perspective. The flashcards were another standout feature. They are an excellent tool for reinforcing key concepts, helping with retention, and providing a quick reference that you can revisit repeatedly throughout your studies. Overall, the course was well structured, practical, and clearly designed with student success in mind. Another standout resource was the "One Week Out" video. It provided great guidance on how to focus during the final stretch before the exam and helped reinforce what was most important in the days leading up to test day. The instructors were also exceptional. I've taken many IT courses over the years, and it's not uncommon for instructors to come across as disengaged or lacking enthusiasm. That was definitely not the case here. Both John and Rob brought a high level of energy, expertise, and passion to the material. Their teaching styles kept the content engaging and made it much easier to stay focused throughout the course. They did a great job of making complex topics approachable while keeping the learning experience interesting and enjoyable.”

“The effective parts of the program are the guidance on what to focus on vs what not to worry too much about. Because CISSP covers an extremely wide range of topics, and it's unlikely that you'd be a expert in every single one, it was really valuable to get the emphasis of "memorize this, think about that topic in this way" etc. Even though I had a lot of practical working knowledge and experience in around 5-6 of the domains, for the areas I was weakest it would be easy to be overwhelmed with new information, so I think this guidance helped the most, personally. I think it was a great experience, and I hope other courses can be available on-demand in the future. Thank you for creating this course!”

“I strongly recommend using Destination Certification. Rob and John are great instructors while Lou provided great mentorship through my 23-day journey. The cost may been a bit pricey for myself. However, I have thought about the price as an investment for the future. This is coming from someone who did a career change to IT (Information Technology) back in 2020. My advice to those who are deciding to go with Destination Certification is to stick to their plan and do not deviate. “I knew that the exam was 'mile wide, inch deep' after some self study, and was looking for two things from study materials: 1.) A proper set of test strategies to utilize once I sat for the test 2.) an easy way to recall the material so there was no confusion in answering the questions. What I found was not only the important pieces I was looking for but also a much deeper simulation of test scenarios, a way to visually gauge my progress, a support system of peers that were going through EXACTLY what I was going through and mentor support to instill proper leadership skills to utilize past the exam itself. “Over the years I have used multiple "official" training courses or resources to obtain certifications. In every single case the training was misleading in relation to what I would actually encounter on the actual exam, and thereby did not fully prepare me to pass the exams. Some certification exams I passed on the first attempt and others required me to re-take. This is an unfortunate and extremely common problem throughout the certification ecosystem. Any certification course should fully prepare the student to pass the exam on the first attempt - if the student does their part. Destination Certification's CISSP course delivered the desired result - I did pass the exam at question 100. It is the only IT related certification training course that provided everything that I needed to be successful. This makes it the sole exception in my years of working within the cyber industry. “It was roughly March or April, and I had reviewed some of the world famous CISSP Mind Maps on YouTube. One of the videos brought up the topic of a “mini” crypto masterclass. I highly enjoyed the format and true/false knowledge assessments, which gave me the feel of the ISC2 logic of the real deal. After completing the mini masterclass, I also downloaded the companion apps of questions and flashcards. It was the practice questions that really made me realize “I don’t know shit.” Of course, I knew more than shit, though that didn’t stop me from purchasing the entire Master Class. I am also my own harshest critic, by a long shot. Over the next few months, I went through the videos of every domain, performing each knowledge assessment as I finished the videos. I then focused on grinding out all 600+ practice questions provided by Destination Certification. I would then go back to watch video or review the Official Study Guide on my weak points. Mine was mostly domains 3 and 4. I was scoring and rationalizing about 80% proficiency on ANY random sampling of reputable questions.”

“When it comes to preparation for the CISSP exam, I've learned two things: One, domain 1 concepts must be thoroughly understood from the enterprise security architecture view, as it is the foundation for the other domains. Two, you want do well on the exam if you test with a practitioners' mind set. I was introduced to Destination CISSP masterclass through their mind maps and it would be the best path to success for me to pass the exam. For me to have success with this exam I needed to be rehabilitated from a practitioner mindset. The lectures and materials are excellent. I passed the exam primarily through this course.”

I loved the class and it was directly the reason I was able to pass on my first attempt. I had gone through the ISC2 boot camp and didn't get nearly as much as I did through the Dest Cert CISSP course. The structure helped me stay on track and Lou was there to always give a guiding hand or an encouraging nudge.
