DestCert YouTube - Privacy and Data Use

DestCert YouTube is operated by Destination Certification Inc. for its authorized channel operations. This notice explains the Google and YouTube information used by the tool.

Information accessed

With the channel owner's consent, the tool accesses channel and video metadata, including titles, descriptions, thumbnail URLs, publishing details, and YouTube Analytics and Reporting data. Performance data may include views, watch time, audience retention, engagement, traffic, impressions, click-through rates and estimated revenue. Availability depends on the permissions granted and the data YouTube provides. The archive does not download video files or collect individual viewer identities.

Purpose

The information supports Destination Certification's video-performance records, operational checks, and preparation of educational content. Authorized personnel may use OpenAI Codex to assist with these tasks. Google and YouTube information is not sold, used for advertising targeting, or used to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

Storage and access

Authorization credentials are kept in protected local storage on the authorized operator's Mac, outside the Google Drive workspace. Performance records are stored in Destination Certification's working archive, which may be synchronized through its Google Drive account. Access is limited to authorized personnel and service providers acting for Destination Certification for the purposes described here. Credentials are not included in reports or shared knowledge.

Retention

Authorized analytics and reporting history is retained while needed for these purposes and while authorization remains valid. Authorization and video availability are checked periodically, at least every 30 days while the service is operating. Other API metadata is refreshed or removed within 30 days. Deleted or inaccessible resources are recorded as coverage limitations. If operation stops, retained information must be reviewed against these retention requirements before it is used again.

Optional publishing access

A separately authorized connection may support video uploads, metadata and thumbnail changes, release preparation, and comment workflows when specifically requested. Google's bundled permission also permits deletion; the current setup and archive tools do not expose YouTube deletion commands. Analytics collection does not use the publishing connection.

Your controls

You can revoke Google account access at  (https://myaccount.google.com/connections). You can also request that Destination Certification stop collection and delete the information it holds by contacting rob@destcert.com. Deletion requests are handled as soon as possible and within seven calendar days. Revocation stops authorized collection; stored information is removed within the applicable YouTube policy deadlines. Deleting this local archive does not delete videos or information held by YouTube.

DestCert YouTube uses YouTube API Services. See the  (https://policies.google.com/privacy), (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy). Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs must adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children").

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "effective date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
